Together, little by little, we can make a difference in the lives of so many children!
Kim's March Mission A Project of Read to a Child
For many of us, we take reading for granted. We were read to when we were little, we grew up loving books and thus we continued to read. We read to our children, we create a love for reading that makes it easier for all to succeed. It is my wish that the aforementioned experience can be witnessed by every child.
As you know this year I have had the pleasure to be the School Coordinator for Read to a Child at Lincoln School in New Britain, CT. Weekly, I get to experience the wonderful bond the 2nd and 3rd graders have with our dedicated reading volunteers as they read books together during the Lunchtime Reading Program. The excitement as well as the joy on the faces of the students being read to is such a rewarding experience for all involved. For most of these students, this is the highlight of their week!
It is my hope that many more children will grow up loving to read, thanks in part to the Read to a Child Lunchtime Reading Program!
